Nick Mellow Interview
Hye Nick how are you ?
I’m fine thanks. Maybe a little bit stressed out because of the many shows I’ve been playing lately.
Could you describe your carreer path ?
I’d say my carreer path is quite steady. There’s always something going on and I like that. My fanbase has constantly crown the last years, and so did the venues I played in. Now I’m excited about what comes next.
Tell us about your new single "Wait and See" Where did you find the inspiration for this title?
Well, as a musician I often have to deal with difficult questions of self-doubt. Sometimes I ask myself if I ever reach my goals or if I’m good enough in what I’m doing. « Wait And See » is about enjoying the moment, taking things like they come, and don’t seeing the life too serious.
Music is (for you) above all a passion, a desire or a need ?
It’s a bit of everything, I think. If there’s no passion and no desire, there can’t be good, authentic music. For me, music isn’t a need in a financial way, but more to be happy every single day.
If I told you French song, you say … ?
« Tombé Sous Le Charme » by Christophe Maé
Tea or coffee ?
Coffee
What are your sources of inspiration for writing your lyrics ?
First of all it’s my personal life, that gives me inspiration. But also things around me in my daily grind or a warm summer evening.
Studio or live ?
Live !
BB King, Steevie Wonder or Johnny Cash ?
Steevie Wonder.
The song that puts you in a good mood in the morning
« Hello You Beautiful Thing » by Jason Mraz
I'll meet you in a cafe with an international star of the song! Who would this star be?
John Mayer
Classique, rock, électro, jazz or hard-rock ?
What about pop ?
What's your best stage memory?
Crowds, that sang along my songs.
You are given the opportunity to realize your dream, what would it be?
I’d love to fill the Royal Albert Hall one day.
Last question to close this interview, we wish you anything for the rest of your musical career?
I always want to stay the same dude that I am today. And I never want to loose my devotion and passion for what I’m doing.
Thank you very much for answering my questions, I wish you a beautiful continuation in the art world.
